Earthquake Shuts Down Third Nuclear Power Reactor, Contaminates Water
TOKYO: Japan's largest power
utility has begun shutting
down its third nuclear reactor
five days after discovering an
increase in iodine in the reactor's water.
It said no radiation had
leaked.
It was the third such incident
at Tokyo Electric Power Co
Inc's Fukushima nuclear plant
250km north-east of Tokyo since
an earthquake last Friday.
