A Magellanic Cloud Survey
MCOrigins is a three stage approach to understanding the structure and evolution of the Magellanic Clouds.
Stage 1: A photometric survey using the SkyMapper telescope. We will perform a wide field survey of the Magellanic Clouds and their environs. This will enable us to, for the first time, place the Magellanic Clouds in their context of interaction
Two stages are planned for the future:
Stage 2: Kinematic survey using AAOmega multi-object spectrograph on the AAT
Stage 3: Detailed chemodynamical survey for proposed HERMES multi-object echelle on the AAT
